Blind Injustice: Wrongful Convictions and Criminal Justice Reform in America. University of Cincinnati law professor Dr. Mark Godsey is the co-founder and director the Ohio Innocence Project, which to date has freed from prison 28 wrongfully convicted Ohioans who together served more than 525 years for crimes they didn't commit, including time on death row. A leading scholar and activist in the Innocence Movement globally, Godsey is the author of the critically acclaimed 2017 book Blind Injustice. A former New York City prosecutor and attorney, Godsey will discuss flaws in the criminal justice system that lead to wrongful convictions and suggest solutions to remedy this problem. He will be accompanied by one of his clients who will share an inspiring story of surviving decades in prison while innocent.
