Dr Levine, Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt University, discusses how understanding Jesus' parables requires understanding Jesus' own Jewish context. How would the parables have been heard by Jesus' original Jewish listeners, how and why do anti-Jewish interpretations of these parables surface, and how might those original messages still speak to Jews and Christians today? Abramson Lecture.
